[CAP] A Simple Functional Model for Alerting Nodes

Friends -

In the course of a conversation today I put together a little graphic  
describing my own abstract mental model for alerting nodes.  It  
occurred to me that it might be useful for some briefings I have to do  
from time to time... and then it occurred to me that other folks might  
conceivably find it useful too.
